Wau lau eh, relax lah, Aunty !
Now that I am almost done with the baby preparation, I am spending the rest of my free time before the big D-day arrives doing some self-pampering. And so, yesterday, I decided to go for my much-awaited hair treatment cum head massage at Reds Parkway.
The lady serving me was a nice lady.....but somehow, I found her attention a little too suffocating for words. First, she instructed the staff to change my cup of tea into mineral water cz' she felt pregnant ladies should not take caffeine. Well, I smiled and accepted her offer cz' it was out of kind intention.
However, the subsequent part of the salon session, I was slightly irritated with her. This was what happened.
After shampooing, I was ushered to the basin.
Lady : Miss, be careful...... don't trip on the chair, okie?
SSSF....smiled and nodded.
Lady : MISS !!!! CAREFUL.....CAREFUL....... don't trip ,okie?
And guess what, I nearly tripped, not cz' I was clumsy, but cz' her sudden burst of nervousness caught me off the guard.
Think she must be suffering from some kind of anxiety, cz' throughout the session, I had to make 2 trips to the basin and she was repeating herself all the while.
Well, it's either I must be stressing her out with my big tummy, or she was stressing me out with her incessant words of caution.
Too much of everything is no good....... in the end, I had to pretend to be down with a headache by closing my eyes so she would leave me alone with her constant " nagging".
Well, the only good thing from the session was, I came out feeling fresh and totally groomed. Love the massage and must make an effort to go back one more time before my D-day arrives next month.
Next on my agenda..... pedicure ! So I can enter my labour ward with nicely pedicured nails....what a bimbo, I know! Kekeke......but it doesn't hurt to pamper ourselves, does it?

hahaha... overly pampering saloon stylist... kekeke...
Yeah... pamper yourself as much as you can before D day, before all the confinement rules set in. heeheehee...
hahah..dun u know that u have to remove all the nail polish before any surgery? Of course child-birth is no surgery but in case ( I hope not!)
Agreed...sometimes it's the people around us that is more 'gan cheong' than us... :P You reminded me, i MUST go for a pedi/mani before D-day also...hehe..we're vain mummies lah... ;)
Better don't pedicure. The last time when I had it done I was told to remove by my hubby. Normal childbirth delivery ok to have pedicure but 'touch wood', in case you got to go for C-sect they'll remove them. So just tolerate first lah!
Sorry for my ignorance, but why do they have to remove the polish, how will it affect the C-Sect?
Because they need to monitor the nails' colours eg, bleeding or not enough oxgyen. The nails will tell those signs thus they have to remove the colours.
diaicy is right... it's really to monitor the nails' colour during the ops. I only knew when I went for a minor ops last yr and was told by the nurses to remove my newly painted nail varnish.
and sssf, a haircut is great! at least u can last longer after delivery and after confinement. I'm thinking of a brazilian wax for the 'convenience' of natural delivery!
Wow... u really know how to enjoy life! :D So, when is your EDD? still have no clue on that. :P
wah! I learnt something new today! =)
Must enjoy and poon pee pee before Jelly Bean comes out lor, cz' I can't imagine how I am going to manage with 2 gee-nahs on hand man !
EDD should be around early June, I estimate if JB comes out in the 38 week like Nutty, then should be 9th June. Counting down to it !
Wau lau eh, super sian man, when I think of the confinement rules....and being quarantined at home for a month.
Hee.... hee.... or maybe paint only the first toe on each side of the feet, better than none, hor?
Yup, think if u are going for natural birth, should be fine.
Well, worst comes to worst, bring along the nail remover lor.....
What a bimbo, right? Kekekek.... or like I said, paint only the first toe on each side of the feet ;-)
Talking about that, yup, it's a great idea...plus hygienic too ;-) Also will make the gaene's job easier when she does the stiching up. I mean, don't think she would enjoy staring at some bushes while doing the job, hor? Kekeke.......
But remember to ask for an experienced waxer who does pregnancy waxing, just in case.
